Meet GAIL YOUNG
Gail Young LPC
THERAPIST
Welcome. I'm glad you found your way here.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel both hopeful and uncertain, but is a powerful act of courage and self-care.. You may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by depression, navigating a difficult relationship or life transition, or simply sensing that something needs to change. Whatever brings you here, you don't have to face it alone.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with more than 27 years of experience supporting adolescents, young adults, and adults as they navigate life's challenges. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of walking alongside individuals through seasons of uncertainty, change, and growth. I've learned that healing doesn't come from having all the answers—it comes from having a safe place to be honest, feeling truly understood, and discovering the strengths that already exist within you.
Helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered is at the heart of my work. I strive to create a warm, compassionate, and welcoming environment where you can be yourself without fear of judgment. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to offer support, perspective, and tools to help you better understand yourself, navigate challenges, and move toward the changes you want to make.
Every person's story is different, which is why I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I take time to understand who you are, what matters most to you, and what you hope to gain from counseling. Together, we will identify and rediscover your strengths, develop meaningful goals for therapy, work through obstacles that may be holding you back, and develop practical tools and strategies that support lasting growth and progress. My goal is to help you feel empowered and equipped as you move forward in a way that feels authentic and achievable.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. I use these approaches thoughtfully and flexibly, tailoring our work together to meet your individual needs and goals. Whether we are working on managing difficult emotions, developing emotional regulation skills, building healthier coping strategies, improving relationships, strengthening self-confidence, healing from difficult experiences and trauma, or navigating life changes, therapy will always be guided by what matters most to you and the pace that feels right.
One of the greatest gifts of this profession has been witnessing the resilience of the people I have worked with. Time and again, I have seen individuals (re)discover strengths they didn't realize they had, find hope amidst difficult seasons, and create meaningful and lasting change in their lives. I feel fortunate to do work that allows me to connect with people during some of their most important moments of growth and change. These experiences continue to inspire me and remind me that growth is possible, even when it feels out of reach.
If you're considering therapy, I know it can feel like a vulnerable first step. My hope is that you find not only a therapist, but a trusted partner who will listen with compassion, offer thoughtful guidance, encourage growth, celebrate your progress, and support you through the inevitable ups and downs of the journey.
I would be honored to support you as you reconnect with your strengths, develop greater self-understanding, and create a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and aligned with who you are.
