At Morning Star Counseling, I am committed to helping teens, adults, and couples find hope, healing, and meaningful change in their lives. My goal is to create a supportive space where you feel safe exploring your experiences and working toward the life you want.
Areas of Focus
I specialize in supporting clients who are navigating:
Anxiety and chronic stress
Depression and mood challenges
Trauma and PTSD
Substance use concerns
Relationship and couples challenges
Emotional struggles in teens and young adults
Whether you are seeking individual therapy or couples counseling, we will work together to better understand your experiences and develop strategies that support lasting growth and healing.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach is nurturing, collaborative, and client-centered. I integrate a range of evidence-based therapy methods to tailor treatment to each client’s needs.
Therapeutic approaches I use include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Gottman Method Couples Therapy
Motivational Interviewing
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
EMDR and Trauma-Focused CBT
These approaches allow us to address both current challenges and deeper patterns that may be contributing to emotional distress.
My Background
My path to counseling was shaped by personal experience. Growing up, I watched my uncle struggle with schizophrenia, which helped me understand how mental health affects not only individuals but also their families and communities.
As a woman of color, I also recognized how rare it was to see mental health providers who reflected my own identity. These experiences inspired me to pursue a career where I could create a safe, supportive, and culturally responsive space for people from all backgrounds.
Before earning my Master’s in Social Work from Millersville University, I worked in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, gaining experience supporting individuals facing a wide range of challenges.
A Culturally Sensitive Approach
I welcome clients from all walks of life and approach my work through a culturally sensitive and inclusive lens, recognizing the many ways culture, identity, and lived experience shape mental health.
My goal is to ensure each person feels seen, understood, and respected throughout the therapeutic process.
